Why learn to swim?

We believe that learning or improving one’s ability to swim is one of the most important and vital ‘life skills’ and should be given the highest priority by parents when organising extra-curricular activities for their children.
It is a fun and enjoyable sport in which you can literally participate from the ‘cradle to the grave’.
It promotes fitness and a feeling of well being and
is thought to be one of the best types of exercise. Swimming gives the entire body a workout and as it
is low impact and non contact, puts minimum strain on joints and muscles. In fact swimming is often recommended as a way of recovering from many physical and psychological injuries.

Acquiring confidence in this essential skill could not only save your life one day, but quite possibly the lives of others around you. It opens a doorway to numerous other aquatic pursuits and pastimes and can make holiday times more enjoyable, productive and safe. Its value can not be overstated.

The ability to swim is a skill which can enhance your fitness, health and well – being throughout your life.
